One Hormone You Cannot Survive Without

Cortisol, a hormone made in the adrenal glands as part of our hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, is often associated with it’s role in the stress response, but it's much more than that.

In fact, the truth is, without cortisol, you would die.

Here's the deal...

Cortisol is a hormone made in the adrenal glands as part of our hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. And MOST people associate cortisol with its role in the stress response.

And let’s be honest: life is stressful these days.

We’re dealing with career stress, relationship stress, children stress, financial stress…

But stress is a lot more than that. Stress is also the pollution that we’re surrounded by, toxic food, toxic water, toxic air, toxic cleaning products, toxic hygiene products, toxic medications and prescriptions, toxic light, toxic makeup, and anything else that puts your body in a state of imbalance.

Yup, it's a lot.

Which means that our body really needs to be supported and fueled in the right ways in order to deal with all of these stressors that life is throwing at us.

Simply put, you would die without cortisol.

And when they're not, it can lead to an imbalance in the natural rhythm of cortisol which can have some really detrimental effects across our body systems.

I talk more about what these effects are, what a natural cortisol pattern should look like when it's in balance, cortisol's other major functions (these may surprise you!), and what you've tried to address your mood and energy issues before hasn't worked in this video on Facebook.
